McWalters & Kelterer, Inc. was formed by its Principals in order to expand the delivery of institutional-grade real estate advisory services to the private sector.
Jim McWalters and John Kelterer first met in the early eighties when they headed different West Coast real estate and investment banking business units at Merrill Lynch. As is often the case when two professionals sharing similar views get together, they discussed joining forces to form a firm that would allow them to bring their experience and expertise to bear on the real estate needs of the private as well as the institutional sector. Although their careers took different paths after they left Merrill Lynch, McWalters and Kelterer kept in touch and continued to recognize that an opportunity existed when the timing was right.
In 2003, as McWalters and Kelterer were each completing major assignments, they formed McWalters & Kelterer, Inc. as a vehicle through which they could fulfill an expanded version of their long-term vision of utilizing institutional practices to add value to the real estate holdings of private as well as institutional owners, investors, and developers. Although some assignments can be successfully completed solely by the Principals, some scenarios require the skills of additional specialists. Because of the Principals’ extensive activities across a broad range of real estate competencies, the Firm has developed a network of relationships with exceptionally well-qualified real estate specialists to fill those needs. The Firm retains, supervises, and coordinates the activities of these experts to most effectively complement the skills of the Principals to add value to virtually any real estate situation, all the while acting as a single point of contact for the client.
By combining these deliverables with the ethical and communication standards developed during the Principals’ extensive service to the institutional marketplace, the Firm acts on behalf of its clients as a solid nexus for capitalizing on real estate opportunities and providing solutions to real estate problems. |
